Hi folks,
Great site, I just wish I'd found it last year when I started my conversion, as the info could have cut down on the amount of time I've spent drinking tea and contemplating "How the ?#*! can I do that?"
Dumbo is my second van, the first being a Q plated transit of dubious origins, which disintegrated when I lost the battle against a voracious infection of rust. Fortunately it was well kitted out and I was able to use it as a donor for dumbo.I'd say that I am about two thirds of the way there and hoping to be in usable condition for the start of 2009.
I chose a mini bus rather than a van because we camp all year round and can enjoy watching wild-life and stormy views through all the windows in warmth and cumfort .Dumbo was used as a wheel-chair mini bus and offered a large amount of space when the chair-lift and seats were removed. The lay-out I have chosen was based very closely on the old van as I know it works. To date I have built a toilet/wet room, installed a cooker and sink, 3-way fridge ,swivel chair, gas locker, leisure battery, zig unit, 12v lighting, 240v system, status aerial, sky-light and three vents. I have insulated behind panneling with polythene covered insulation.
I will try to post some pictures soon.

I've found this site pretty useful too but I reckon you can't underestimate the value of tea drinking and contemplation, my boyfriend reckons it's an essential part of ANY task.
