Iveco Daily 2000+ seat swivel made by SportsCraft
Fitting seat swivels to allow the driver's and passenger's seats to turn round to face backwards is a great way to make the most of the limited space available in a campervan or motorhome. For the benefit fitting seat swivels bring to your campervan or motorhome we think it is one of the lowest cost, relatively achievable DIY conversion tasks. For more information read our article about
fitting seat swivels.
This Seat Swivel is for a Iveco Daily van (year 2000 onwards) and it is made by
Sportscraft of Germany. These are high quality seat swivels but note for some reason Sportscraft have not crash tested this one although they have tested most of their other swivel plates successfully. This swivel is the same for both drivers and passenger side seats.
Campervan Conversion DIY Difficulty: 2/5 for passenger side, 3/5 for drivers side. Note that we haven't had any difficulties reported with this model, but the drivers side swivel can be more difficult to fit (though still highly achievable by most DIY enthusiasts) since you sometimes have to mount the handbrake lower down on the floor on a bracket provided. This involves trimming the plastic seat covering as well as re-adjusting the handbrake cable after fitting - in extreme cases this may involve getting some help from a garage.
All Sportscraft Seat Swivels come complete with fixing bolts.
Things to watch out for:
Airbags / seat heating / other wiring - disconnect the battery before doing anything with wiring. After fitting the swivel, wires can be passed through the hole.
Things mounted under the seat are a problem if they are higher than the seat base - for example batteries, heaters, etc. Batteries can usually be replaced with lower profile ones.
Sometimes bolts can catch when swiveling - if this happens you will either need to use shorter bolts, cut down these ones using a hack saw, do some filing, or source some with flat heads. They need to be high tensile bolts so get them from an appropriate place - often local engineering / welding companies are the best people to go to for this type of problem.
