Universal seat swivel made by SportsCraft

 

Fitting seat swivels to allow the driver's and passenger's seats to turn round to face backwards is a great way to make the most of the limited space available in a campervan or motorhome.  For the benefit fitting seat swivels bring to your campervan or motorhome we think it is one of the lowest cost, relatively achievable DIY conversion tasks.  For more information read our article about fitting seat swivels.

 

This Seat Swivel is a 'universal' seat swivel and it is made by Sportscraft of Germany.  These are high quality seat swivels but this one has not been crashed tested.

 

Campervan Conversion DIY Difficulty: 3/5 (but depends on the van).  Obviously this swivel is not made for a specific vehicle and it will work better in some situations than other.  If you are buying this seat swivel it presumably means that you can't find one which is made specifically for your van (please double check on our seat swivels page first!)  You may well be able to simply unbolt your seat, put this in underneath it and have a swivelling seat... however, it may turn out to be far from straightforward and you may have to modify various bits including the seat base, the swivel itself, the seat runners, or the seat in order to create a successful solution.  In some cases you may find that one of the other swivels is a better fit for your vehicle, so it might be worth checking the quoted hole centres etc.  Please do let us know how you get on and take pictures so we can share the info with others.
